BREAKING: HOVER does interiors
Part 1
Part 2
In these two videos, learn all about how HOVER has done it again. Not content with being a powerful and easy-to-use app for getting accurate measurements and dimensions of building exteriors - including roofs !!from the ground!! - they have just announced that HOVER is bringing the same thing for building interiors.
We're going to show you just how easy and fast it is for restoration contractors, remodelers, adjusters, and yes.. even my mom.. to get detailed and accurate dimensions AND how you can get in on limited early access.
This is very exciting news!
As you may or may not know, there are a myriad of ways to get accurate measurements and diagrams into estimating software like Xactimate and Symbility. These days you have Xactimate Mobile, Symbility's Claims Connect, various roof pictometry services like Eagleview, the Matterport camera..of course HOVER.to's absolutely outstanding exterior 3D modeling and comprehensive reports. And of course, if you're old-school like me, you'll also have the option of doing it all by hand using clay tables and an abacus.
But there hasn't really been a great option for a do-it-all platform that can get the roof, the exterior walls, AND the interior all without needing expensive equipment to get the job done.
Until now..
HOVER.to has been working on adding interiors to their app for about a year and they've finally released it to the general public in the form of a limited early release. All that means is that if you want to use HOVER interiors to mess around with or you want to use it on real claims - whether for Xactimate or Symbility - you just need to request access at hover.to/interiors
Why should you use HOVER.to?
Well, first, there's a good chance that you already have access through your IA firm in some sort of integration - like Pacesetter, for example.
Second - you can get the roof, exterior walls, and now interiors all in one app.
Third - HOVER integrates directly with Xactimate and Symbility so you can now send your claim to HOVER from, for example, Xactimate. Which means that HOVER will send the diagrams straight back into your claim - seamlessly. Including the photos!
Fourth - because there's no fancy equipment involved, you can have your insureds get all the measurements you need before you even get to the house, potentially saving you HOURS drawing and measuring buildings every single day. Which means you can close more claims in a day and make more money. But even if you don't do that, HOVER guys tell me that you should be able to get your HOVER report within 3 hours of uploading the photos from the app.
That's all well and good, but how does it work? Glad you asked:
It's dead simple. So simple, in fact, that all you have to do is walk around the perimeter of the room taking overlapping photos. When you get to a door, make sure that you take 2-3 photos into the next room you'll be capturing so that HOVER can properly calculate the floor plan.
That's pretty much it.
Adjusters, nephews, grandma's.. Anybody can do it.
Using nothing more than magic, once you upload the photos, HOVER's massive AI supercomputer that lives in a hardened complex under Elvis Presley's Graceland will turn regular smartphone photos into an inch-accurate 3D model.
Kinda makes you wonder why anybody even needs adjusters anyway. What it can't do is write checks, shake hands, provide shoulders to cry on, do coverage analysis, negotiate with contractors, or even write estimates. Don't worry, your job is still safe.
Let's put it this way: I'll let you know when the career of independent adjuster is going away. Not yet.
If you're interested in using the new interior functionality of HOVER, head over to hover.to/interiors and request access. They told me that individuals can also request access so don't let the "company name/company website" questions stop you from applying.
And as always, thank you so much for watching and have a great storm.
